For more than 70 years, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery® has been the only resource that every professional who employs plastic surgery methods or collaborates with a plastic surgeon can depend on to be great. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ official publication, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, is a perk of membership in the Society and is also accessible via subscription.
For all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery, including breast reconstruction, experimental studies, maxillofacial reconstruction, hand and microsurgery, burn repair, cosmetic surgery, as well as news on medicolegal issues, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery® provides subscribers with the most recent reports on techniques and follow-up. The cosmetic section delivers more cosmetic-specific content than any other publication and offers extended coverage of new treatments and approaches. All subscribers get full access to the Journal’s website, which includes podcasts, extensive article archives going back to 1946, broadcast quality videos of reconstructive and cosmetic treatments, and other features unique to the recently rebuilt website.
In order to keep readers informed about noteworthy advancements in all fields linked to reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery® publishes news articles. For publication, we welcome significant papers on any topic related to plastic surgery, including original clinical or laboratory research, surgical techniques, thorough reviews, and cosmetic surgery, as well as letters, case reports, and announcements of educational courses, meetings, and symposia. A monthly peer-reviewed journal called Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is devoted to documenting the present and setting the theoretical and practical groundwork for future developments in clinical plastic and reconstructive surgery. The best monthly peer-reviewed publications on plastic and reconstructive surgery can be found there, both in print and online. Through the Ovid online database, it has a potential global audience of over 13 million end users, and through the Hinari initiative, surgeons, hospitals, and medical schools in Third World nations have free access to Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
The goal of the Journal is to support its members’ efforts to provide the best patient care possible and uphold professional and ethical standards through education, research, and advocacy of socioeconomic and other professional activities. This goal of the Journal supports the overall mission of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons®.
