This course is meant to give first-year GI fellows an introduction to endoscopic procedures and clinical therapy of illnesses of the digestive tract. It has a notable faculty from metropolitan New York. Upper and lower endoscopy, procedural sedation, colonoscopy, electrocautery, removing foreign objects, pathology, and imaging; percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, GI crises, and upper and lower GI hemorrhage are among the topics covered.
Learning Intentions
Describe the endoscopic evaluation, results, and treatment of patients involving gastrointestinal disorders.
Analyze the pathologic and/or radiologic findings that are related to these patients.
Talk about the instances’ clinical presentation, endoscopic care, and follow-up.
Diagnosis and management of foreign bodies and intestinal obstructions: Access needs for successful patient sedation
Recognize the fundamentals of feeding tube installation and decide on methods for controlling acute upper and lower GI hemorrhage.
