Description

We are excited to present our 13th annual two-day workshop, which is especially created for working clinicians, clinical researchers, and psychiatric trainees. Presentations will be on typical psychiatric patients, with a focus on those who are challenging to treat or resistant to treatment. The use of genetic tests, blood level assessments, and drug combinations will be covered along with more recent treatments and emerging therapeutic techniques. There will be plenty of chances for discussion with the presenters.

The following subjects will be discussed during this conference: a current review of neurobiology and brain function that walks the audience member through the steps of neurotransmission, starting with the critical importance of neurotransmitter circuits, transmitters and receptors, synaptic activity, and gene transcription. environmental and genetic interactions.

With a focus on prodromal symptoms and first episode patients, as well as long-term maintenance and treatment resistant patients, drug treatment for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder will be discussed. We’ll go through new antipsychotic drugs, therapeutic enhancements, and potential new applications for mood stabilizers. The focus will be on the neurobiological causes of depression, including a discussion of the genetic and epigenetic components as well as the function of inflammation. The most recent clinical research will serve as the foundation for modern antidepressant use. Ketamine, ECT, TMS, psychedelics, and augmentation techniques for treatment-resistant depression and bipolar depression will receive particular attention.

The diagnosis and treatment of patients with anxiety, borderline personality disorder, OCD, and eating disorders will be discussed, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of benzodiazepines. There will be a discussion about the causes and remedies for PTSD. The use of blood levels, dosing, and creative drug combinations in the treatment of persistent psychiatric diseases will receive particular attention. With a focus on PMS, perinatal, and postpartum disorders, the significance of the examination and psychopharmacological therapy of women’s mental health difficulties will be discussed. The course will also cover the neurobiology of sleep problems in psychiatry and how they are treated, in addition to a lecture on the neurobiology of alcoholism, cannabis addiction, and other drug misuse disorders.

There will be a presentation on anxiety and anxiety-spectrum disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder, as well as their pharmacological treatment. Both the pharmacological therapy of borderline personality disorder and fresh ideas and approaches to treating obsessive compulsive disorder will be examined. The significance of diagnosing and treating women’s mental health problems with psychopharmacology will be discussed, with a focus on PMS, perinatal and postpartum disorders, and treatment-resistant PTSD. A review of the function of psychopharmacology in the management of sleep disorders will also be covered in the course. Also discussed will be developments in the neurobiology and management of alcohol and drug misuse disorders. We’ll focus on the most recent developments in pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric psychopharmacology. The formation and significance of the therapeutic alliance when prescribing any psychiatric medication will be emphasized throughout the course, as will the possible risks and benefits of drug interactions caused by polypharmacy.
